The bulk of the art here is by Mike Alewitz, who has earned the dubious distinction of being the most censored artist in the world – because he paints for the invisible workers, the workers with no names. The real authors of this work are not an individual or even a group of artists. The real authors are the workers and activists who engaged in militant struggle – some who paid with their blood. We consider ourselves custodians of these images because they embody the story of these workers.

 

Red Square is a volunteer project. We haven’t done much fundraising in the past, but now we need your help, as we try to navigate this tumultuous world of constant war and oppression!
