Unity for Justice - Justice for Unity

New Brunswick, NJ (1991)

The Murder of Shaun ‘Unity’ Potts by Sgt. Zane Gray of the New Brunswick Police. The banner was taken from the walls of an art exhibit by Mike Alewitz at Walters Hall Gallery, Rutgers University, and carried on a march to protest the police shooting of the son of New Brunswick union official Jackie Potts. The three painted figures on the right of the banner are after “The Passion of Sacco and Vanzetti” by Ben Shahn. They have been reconfigured as the prosecutor, the president of Rutgers University and Buster Sories, a right wing clergymen – together they helped to bury the truth about the murder of Sean “Unity” Potts, on June 30, 1991.
