The Dreams of

Harriet Tubman

Baltimore, MD / 2000

By Mike Alewitz

Alewitz was invited by Baltimore Clayworks as one of 50 Milenium Artists to do a project in Maryland. He developed a series of murals to be called, “The Dreams of Harriet Tubman.” The centerpiece (Move or Die) was designed to be a landmark in the City of Baltimore, was rejected, and the other murals were vandalized and then destroyed.
