THE BOSSES HAVE TWO PARTIES – WE NEED ONE OF OUR OWN
On June 6 – 9, 1996, workers from around the country gathered in Cleveland, Ohio to form a Labor Party. The initiative was spearheaded by the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers Union (OCAW) and other unions.The new organization initiated a number of important campaigns. Artists created the Cultural Workers and Artists Caucus (CWAC), that carried on solidarity activities using music and art.
